Visit to Rippingale Railway Station Sun 19th July

Jun, 2026 | Events, News

Did you know that the Bourne to Sleaford railway line had a stop at Rippingale? Whilst the Station House has been converted to a family home, the owner still has track left in his garden and has secured a full-size diesel engine for visitors to run along the track.

The afternoon starts with each visitor being issued with a keepsake railway ticket, followed by an introductory talk on the lost line.

In addition, there is an enthusiast’s paradise in one of the old goods sheds – a range of railway memorabilia, a functioning ticket office and signalling equipment and wonderful model layouts of Bourne Station, a fairground and an award-winning layout exhibited at the prestigious Spalding Model Rail exhibition.

Gain an insight into the industrial archaeological remains, as you explore the grounds to discover what is left and imagine what was once on this historic site.

The Aveland History Group are delighted to offer a small tour of Rippingale Station on Sunday 19th July at 2.00 PM

Spaces are strictly limited to 20 people, so please BOOK HERE

Your  ticket covers a voluntary contribution to the Rippingale Station team, as well as to The Aveland History Group.

Refreshments will be served, with donations to the team at Rippingale warmly welcomed.
