We will be exploring a variety of techniques working with fabric, felt, and ribbon to create floral embellishments. The materials for the workshop will be provided for you on the day, however if you wish to bring along any specific fabric to work with then do so. Using simple hand sewing stitches to create either a realistic flower or your own interpretation of a flower form, you will be given the freedom to unleash your own creativity and make a floral embellishment, having been shown the necessary skills to do so. You will have the opportunity to make several embellishments in the time which you may want to use to decorate a bag, a hat, or even an item of clothing. Inspired by the floral embellishments that adorn Charles Worth’s couture pieces, we hope that participants will be able to take away these skills to enhance their own projects and then be able to exhibit the outcomes at the Worth 200 weekend in October.
